Pantries on the Move

On average, Food Bank of the Rockies distributes enough food for 250,000 meals daily. But how do we reach every person who needs food assistance? We hit the road! To reduce barriers to access and ensure we show up in communities where access to nutritious, affordable food may be limited, public transportation nonexistent, and need for food assistance high, we host 70-plus Mobile Pantries each month.

And we could not show up in so many places to distribute food without community support. From setting up tables to loading trunks, our local Mobile Pantry volunteers are essential to reaching every town, city, and person in our service area. Thanks to these dedicated, passionate volunteers, we are able to continue distributing 50 percent more food than ever before.

"I work at Community College of Denver and I see a real need with our students, so it’s important to me that we’re out here, in this community, distributing food,” remarked Jennifer, a Mobile Pantry volunteer. Want to help your community?
